Everyone is now everywhere, and it’s difficult to determine where someone is, well the solution is about.me.  It’s a setp on the direction of pulling together the latest information from multiple sites so you know where someone is at and where to find them on it.

  • Facebook?
  • Twitter?
  • Linked In?

Well this site, as a user, you sign up for an account, you upload and design your screen.  Then you sign up for services.  These services are you other social media sites, that you have to authorize about.me to access.  Your given a URL that visitors can access read a biography you provide, then read the latest updates on the other social media sites.  This provides a nice starting point for finding people and then getting in touch with them.

It seems to work great, except it doesn’t allow for multiple accounts.  Some people have works blogs and personal blogs, that should both be includes.  This is missing the ability to support that. In addition they do need to add additional services, they have several but there are many others that are no covered and it would be nice to be able to include those.  Also being able to assign a service to a different display area, such as bookmarks from a bookmarking site to it’s own display area.

Overall a promising app, with great potential.  It’s worth investing the few minutes into this to setup.  I look forward to seeing where they take this moving forward. This may sound similiar to IFTTT, but they are vastly different applications.
