Let me just say when it comes to interconnecting social media sites, If This Then That is the best connector available for connecting pieces together.  If you use more tha Twitter or Facebook, then you should check out this site.  I’ve found the resources available with IFTTT, to be wonderful in connecting pieces together to provide a rich set of interactions in a defined way.

It’s not just Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Google+, and other mainstream social media sites.  Tie your SMS Text Messaging, phone, google calendar, Dropbox, and many other sites you wouldn’t normally think about.  I’ve used IFTTT to handle my church’s social media presence.  I use it to manage my own social media presence.

Usage is easy once you have setup an account.  You go to “Channels” and you go through all of the channels that you have an activate account with.  You have to authorize IFTTT to access those channels.  In the case of your Phone, GTalk, and other similiar things you have to get a pin from the device to authorize the channel.

You then have the options to create your own tasks, or to use recipes that other users have posted to setup interactions between channels.  There are hundreds even thousands of combinations possible.  Just take the time to put together what you want or need.

RSS Feeds truely explodes the power of this system. By being able to plug in any RSS feed for your trigger, you can have as many different types of tasks as you can find in feeds.  It all depends on exactly what you want done in your name.

This is one of the most innovative sites I have run across in the past few years, and it really brings together all of the social media sites.
