Donate your unused processing time on you computer(s), to the World Community Grid.  Your unused processing time can be used by researchers for performing complex computations on large amounts of data.  This provides researchers who may not have the the money to fund the data processing they need which could be thousands of years of computation time, a way to access the vast resources of the World Community Grid.

So far since the formation of the World Community Grid, 609,145 years of computation time have been donated.  Not just any researcher can access these resources.  Certain requirements have to be met.  Such as all the data from this research has be in the public domain.  Studies are scrutinized and must be a benefit to humanity.

The current active studies are:

Grid computing is a way of tieing together multiple computers toward a common goal.  Each individual computer performs a small part of the larger computation. The result when enough of these systems are joined together is a network of computers that can outperform mulitple super computers. Offer these resources to studies that can benefit humanity at no cost, this is what the World Community Grid is doing.  This research will help lead to new medicines, new foods, and better systems to help humanity.

If your not a member of the World Community Grid, you should be, if you are, then is your employer advocating participation across their organization, help lead the way.  This is an important task that can have truely beneficial results for you, your children, and grandchildren.  We must act now, help promote others joining this wonderful project, with your friends, your employer, and your community.

IBM™ is a sponsor of the World Community Grid.
